Well there are anime about mainstream sports, and also sot so massive sports, but 2 badminton shows one after other is a surprise indeed.

Ryou has good friends though, Shizuo was clearly upset that he wasn't going to be able to play with Ryou anymore but still told him to go to Yokohama Minato with a smile on his face and even followed up later that night. Hopefully he won't disappear completely after they enter high school and only see each other in tournaments.

Ryou's big sister was really cool, I was surprised by how unsupportive his parents were but it made more sense after finding out what his father went through.

Ryo is a likable protagonist so far. His friend was lovely and I loved the part where they were texting.
Rika was the undisputed MVP this episode. I really liking her so far, she seems like a good sibling and gunning for Best Oneesan this season.

She mentions that she's got a guaranteed spot to Tokyo University aka Todai right out of high school, so she's smart smart on top of being best oneesan
